This site is dedicated to preserving and celebrating the heritage of the Dispionit family — the original surname from which many modern variations have evolved, including Disbennett, Disbennet, Dispanet, DisPennett, Dispennette, Dispenny, Dispony, Disponet, Disponette, and others found across different regions. Volume II of the Dispionit Family Book is now underway, and we’re gathering photos, documents, stories, and lineage information from relatives across every branch of the family tree. Our mission is simple: to honor our origins, strengthen our connections, and create a lasting record for future generations.
Thank you for being part of this legacy. Your contributions help keep our history alive.
About the Project Preserving Our Heritage, One Story at a Time
The Dispionit Family Book began as a way to document our shared history, restore old photographs, and bring together the stories that define our family. Over the centuries, the original surname Dispionit transformed into several spellings — including Disbennett, Disbennet, Disbennet, and other regional variations. Volume II continues the work of reconnecting these branches under the original ancestral name, ensuring our lineage is accurately represented and preserved. By collecting information directly from relatives, we ensure the book reflects our true heritage and safeguards memories that might otherwise be lost. The new website provides a secure, centralized place for everyone to participate. Whether you’re submitting a photo, sharing a story, or identifying someone in an old picture, your input helps complete the next chapter of our family history.
